Are your items dishwasher and microwave safe?

Yes! When creating lily and sophia I wanted to ensure that these handmade pieces weren't to be put away in a cupboard and brought out when people come round and you want to bring out "the good stuff!"

I wanted the pieces to bring you joy every day. Brighten up every regular Tuesday.

Every piece has been double fired in the kiln so every piece is dishwasher, microwave and oven safe.

As with all handmade pieces of art we recommend you handle these products with care and we recommend hand washing for optimal care.

To hand wash, use a soft scrub brush and regular dish soap, make sure to avoid metal or very abrasive sponges. For dishwashing, we recommend using eco-friendly detergents.

How shall I wash my pieces?

You can place your pieces in the dishwasher. We recommend using a eco-friendly detergent as they tend to be less harsh on the glazes.

Where possible hand wash your pieces using a soft brush and regular dish soap. Don't use the very abrasive metal sponges.

Is your pottery oven safe?

Yes it is!

To ensure your pottery lasts a life time be careful of intense temperature changes, for example going from a cold fridge straight to the oven or from a hot oven to very cold water in the sink. Let the temperature rise or decrease slowly first!

Do you ship internationally?

We ship worldwide! For orders in Singapore, enjoy free shipping on purchases of $200 and above.

For orders in the UK, you get free shipping for orders over £150.

So far we've shipped to Netherlands, Germany, Japan, South Korea, USA, Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong and more.

How much does shipping cost?

We offer free standard delivery for all Singapore orders with a minimum purchase of $200. Orders below that are shipped at a flat rate of $9.

For the UK we provide free shipping for orders over £150. Orders less than £45 are shipped at £7 and orders over £45 are shipped at £9.50.

We take the upmost care to package and ship your fragile items, without using any plastic. We double box, use honeycomb wrapping and kraft paper filler. It's expensive! We don't "make" any money from the shipping and often have to subsidise as the shipping fees don't cover our costs.

How long does shipping take?

Shipping will take between 3-7 working days, but we will always try to get your items to you as fast as we can.

What happens if something breaks during transit?

So heartbreaking! Whilst extremely unlikely, we recognise that shipping accidents can happen. Please take a photo and get in touch with us at hello@lilyandsophia.com

We will work as quickly as we can to replace any damaged piece.

What packaging do you use?

Shipping highly breakable goods like pottery is tricky, so we make sure it is done well. We double-box all our deliveries for shock-resistance, and only use biodegradable padding materials.

General questions

How does the Blue Dragon partnership work?

Our partnership with Blue Dragon Foundation ensures that a portion of all purchases fund meals for street children in Hanoi. Blue Dragon run shelters in Hanoi where nutritionally balanced lunches are served every day to children with nowhere else to go. Your money goes directly to this program.

Thushani has known and volunteered with Blue Dragon Children's Foundation since 2016 when she lived in Hanoi. She heads out there as many times as she can a year to volunteer and meet with the amazing people behind Blue Dragon.

Why does my product look slightly different to the picture?

Each piece of our ceramic tableware is handmade from beginning to end. This means that no pieces will be exactly the same. This is something that we think should be celebrated and differentiates our hand made pieces to the mass produced items out there. So celebrate the fact that each piece you own is truly one of a kind, and you are the only person out there with it.

How can I be more involved in lily and sophia’s mission and community beyond my purchase?

We at lily and sophia strongly believe that each of our choices, no matter how small they may seem, can add up to make a big difference. Are you a charity organisation?

lily and sophia is a for-profit enterprise with a strong social mission. We are partnered with Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation and every piece that you purchase buys hot nutritious meals for homeless and vulnerable children living in Hanoi. We strongly believe that business can be a force for good. Not "just" about making profits.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit and debit cards through our online checkout.

My purchase looks different to what I expected, can I have a refund?

All items sold are non-exchangeable and non-refundable.

I own a restaurant. What is the minimum order quantity for trade orders?

We would love to create something truly special with you. We work with small family run businesses to large chains. Please reach out directly to us at hello@lilyandsophia.com and we will work something out.
